Helen Gerrard (née Gill)
Having skied for over 20 years, Helen is the token skier in the management team (although she has been known to dabble in a bit of boarding, albeit very badly!) and is also a keen runner even in the depths of winter. After many years working as a finance lawyer in London and New York for some of the most prestigious law firms in the world, she finally took the plunge into the unknown and left the corporate world to follow her heart back to the mountains. With several seasons working (and, on occasion, ski-bumming) in Val d’Isère under her belt, it was only natural for her to set up camp and base herself in Val d’Isère.
As the only female in the management team, she volunteered to take on the client side of running the business and avoid duties such as fitting snow chains to the vans in subzero temperatures! So, Helen will usually be the one who responds to any enquiries and coordinates the bookings. She is also involved in the marketing side of the business, and being the main linguist in the team, she is on hand to help with any other queries and questions and liaise with the local companies in resort.
Ash first snowboarded about sixteen years ago now and first skied about twenty two years ago. Over the years, Ash worked in ski resorts as a snowboard instructor, a driver, a chalet host, a human dish washer and a resort manager. In that time, he fitted in working as a private banker and an analyst for a major bank in both London and Johannesburg, where he worked with some fantastic colleagues and clients while also completing the CFA programme. He has been lucky enough to snowboard across Europe and has chased the snow as far as New Zealand, Chile and Argentina.
Based in Val d’Isère, he looks after the aspects that happen behind the scenes of any company to make sure it all runs smoothly and he also manages the vehicles. He is also on the front line as a driver and liaises with clients and the chalet operators with whom we work.
Paul was a bit late to the snow, not stepping on the white stuff until he was 29 years old, and the bug instantly took a hold. After his first winter season in Les Deux Alpes and a summer travelling, the following winter he returned to the mountains, making his first visit to Les Trois Vallées. He is still on that first visit nearly 8 years later, immediately falling in love with the area. He adores the summer as much as the winter, especially with the developing mountain biking scene and the warmer weather.
Paul looks after all things to do with vehicles, drivers, levels of service and is also one our most experienced drivers. He is based in the Courchevel valley all year round we he manages our hub there and the relationships that we have with chalet operators in Les Trois Vallées.
